This year Construction Products turns 10. What started in 2016 as a small business called Construction Plastics now supplies builders, contractors and tradies across New Zealand. Here's a look back at how we got here, and a thank you to the customers who made it happen.
Where it started
Richard Vickers started Construction Plastics in 2016 with a clear focus on building consumables: packers, shims and the everyday products that go into every build but rarely get much attention. With a background in product design, Richard was able to produce custom designed products for customers.
Growing the range
As customers came back, they started asking whether we could supply other site essentials too. Year by year, the range grew from packers and shims into a much wider selection of building products.
Eventually the name Construction Plastics no longer matched what we did. Becoming Construction Products reflected the broader range, while keeping the same focus on the products trade customers rely on every day.
A family business
Construction Products is a family business, proudly New Zealand owned and operated. Tim joined in 2018, and since then we've built the business on two things: quality products and service you can count on.
In practice, that means stocking products we'd be happy to use ourselves, giving straight advice, and getting orders out fast. No customer is too big or too small. Whether it's a handful of shims for a small job or regular supply for a large build, every order gets the same care. If something isn't right, we sort it. Many of our customers have been with us for years, and that comes down to looking after them properly.
